In the second version of
eMailer2001 we have added some extra features in order to create a
powerful autoresponder and bulk e-mail software system. However we didn't
remove any feature the eMailer2001 ver. 1.0 had. In fact we have improved
some of the already existing features of the program and we 've kept for
compatibility, features that no longer are so important to be used.

Improvements
eMailer --> Tools --> Manually Check For Subscriptions
Sometimes you don't want to run Scheduler to find new subscribers or remove
subscribers from your list. If this is the case for you, then you can search
manually for new subscriptions and removal requests from your lists, with this
simple process.
eMailer --> Tools --> SMTP Settings...
Added the SMTP authentication if required. You enter your SMTP's
authentication password, so you can be able to use SMTP servers that need
authentication before sending any e-mail from them.
March 5th, 2004 - Released eMailer2001 Ver. 2.20
Improvements
eMailer --> Tools --> Send e-mails to subscribers
- A multithreading technique has been added which allows you to send simultaneously
up to 10 e-mails. This means you 'll send e-mails 10 times faster than
you could if you were using an e-mail client program like Outlook
- Choose to send your e-mails using the program's built-in mailserver.
In this way you can bypass your ISP's restrictions about the number of e-mails
you are allowed to send
- Use the SpamChecker utility, without leaving the send mail menu
- Abort the send e-mailing process when it starts
- Re-Send only the e-mails that you didn't send the first time either
because you aborted the process or because you 've been disconnected
- Until now you could personalize the message of your e-mail using any of
your list's fields. Now you can do the same with the Subject. For
example if you send an e-mail to John with the subject:
<<FirstName>>, the newsletter is ready, he will receive it as:
John, the newsletter is ready.
eMailer --> Tools --> Find invalid e-mails
A new process has been added which allow you to check if the e-mails you
have in your list are still valid. You can choose to delete the invalid
e-mails at the end of the process. This will help you to decrease the
undeliverable e-mails.
eMailer --> Edit --> Show All Mailing List's Subscribers
View all the members and their details of your list.
eMailer --> Help --> Getting Started Wizard
A step by step wizard that help you to set, organize and run eMailer2001 in
no time.
eMailer --> Filters --> Follow Up Messages
In Step 4 you can add a Subscription filter. You can use this if you
want someone to be added to your mailing list and to your follow up list
simultaneously.
eMailer --> Tools --> POP3 Account Settings
The Connect automatically in dial up connections has been added. If
you use a dial-up connection choose to force the program to try and connect
to Internet automatically.
Scheduler --> Tasks --> Routines
The Connect with your dial-up connection and the Disconnect from
your dial-up connection have been added. Choose the exact time you want
to connect and disconnect from Internet.
Scheduler --> Tasks
If you don't enter exact time and nn minutes for a process, this
process will be executed right after you 've loaded the Scheduler.
January 5th, 2004 - Released eMailer2001 Ver. 2.10
Improvements
In the AutoSubscriptions Filter in the 3rd Step a
First Letter In Caps checkbox has been added.
Sometimes a subscriber when he writes his name he writes it all in lowers.
However the first letter should be in Uppers. Tick this checkbox in that
field in order to save the information with the first letter in Uppers.
In the Follow Up Messages Filter the number of the follow up messages
has been extended from 10 to 1000. This practically means that you can use an
unlimited number of follow up messages.
In the Tools Applications the SpamChecker Utility
has been added. You can also receive instructions on how to download it
absolutely FREE by clicking
here. Use it to check if the message you intent to send to your
subscribers can pass the filters they probably use in order to avoid Spamming.
In the Scheduler's Tasks the Edit Subscriptions
task has been added. It works the same way as the New Subscriptions task
only it doesn't add new subscribers to your list but updates some of the
information your subscribers have. You can create a second form where you
can allow your subscribers to change some of their information (not the e-mail)
and using this task you can save the updates.
September 25th, 2002 - Released eMailer2001 Ver. 2.01
Improvements
In the Check All routine the Scheduler checks the e-mails and pops up
a message displaying the new e-mails that it has found and didn't process,
because they are e-mails that the user must handle manually.
In the Follow Up Messages filter you can use the reserved word NONE
in the first message's template, in case you don't want to send the first
follow up message right after his subscription. Also, you can define where in
the subscription message the subscriber's e-mail can be found.
A user's guide has been released giving with a lot of screenshots the exact
way of seting up and using the eMailer2001.
Learn more about it by clicking here.
Also, now you can send a welcoming message to those who subscribe to your list
and a removing message to those who un-subscribed from your list.
When your connection to the net is slow, the Scheduler couldn't continue
processing the tasks. Version 2.01 solves this problem.
Finally, in the help section of eMailer a Check for updates command
menu has been added. Use it to check if a new version of the program has
been released.
July 21st 2002 - Released eMailer2001 Ver. 2.00
Improvements
When you create a new mailing list the program automatically takes you to
the [Edit Mailing List] menu command to enter
the list's description. Also, in the [Edit Mailing List]
menu command we have added the [Username]
and the [Password] fields in both the
subscriptions and the un-subscriptions. That is useful if you want to have
a different e-mail for the subscriptions and the un-subscriptions or a
different message and a different e-mail for both cases.
Another improvement is in the Import and Export Mailing Lists, where you
can choose the fields that you want to be informed and the sequence that
they appear in the text-file (export or import file depending on the case).
Finally, in the SMTP and POP3 Settings we have added the
[Check] button that will check if the settings you have entered are correct.
Therefore you will know if there is a problem with your settings and solve it
before you attempt to send or receive e-mails.
A feature that you can still use, but you might not need it anymore, because
of the existence of the Scheduler is the
[Send e-mail]. However if you want to, you
can always use it.
New Features
A very important addition is the use of the
[Filters]. The filters are set the way the
Scheduler will handle the automatic jobs. There are three filter
types, the New Subscription, the Auto Reply and the
Follow Up Messages filter and the [Filter Wizards] are a practical
and easy way to create efficient filters.
However, the most important new feature is the
Scheduler. It is an independent program that you can load when
your computer starts (or whenever you like) and it is the one that will
handle the New subscriptions, Un-subscriptions, Auto-replies and Follow
Up messages automatically.
You can add, edit or remove a task (you can have up to 99 tasks a day)
in order to handle the jobs you want the Scheduler to perform.
With the use of the filters, you can have different tasks for any list
that you have, that will be executed the specific day and time that you
want. With these tasks you can:
- Add new subscribers to your lists automatically
- Remove those who want to un-subscribe from your lists automatically
- Send automatic replies to those who have sent you a question
- Send up to 10 follow up messages the specific days to those who
subscribe to receive them
- Add or remove subscribers from your follow up list
- Send your e-zine the specific day and time
- Load any program in your computer the specific day and time
We have added another list, the Follow Up List that keeps the e-mails
of those who receive your follow up messages. You can view and handle this
list, if you want to, manually.
You can view the new subscriptions and un-subscriptions that Scheduler
performed automatically, with the use of the log files.
Finally, we have changed our policy in the
eMailer's editions. We no longer support four different editions.
Instead we have one and only edition. We don't support anymore the
FREE Edition of eMailer, therefore for those of you who want to run
the program before you buy it, you can download the
30-days-FREE-trial. It is a full functional version, like the
registered one, with the difference that it will expire in 30 days.
